Caroline Strickland
My Favorite Book:
"The Giver of Stars," by Jojo Moyes
Why I Serve:
My inspiration comes from my husband, John, and my grandchildren, Jonathon and Charlie. John credited his lifelong love of learning to the library in the small mountain town where he grew up. I witnessed the amazing impact Sarasota libraries had on our boys. I hope to help our library system continue to offer broad educational opportunities for everyone in our community.
After teaching elementary school and working as a supervisor of protective services for children, Caroline Strickland joined Kerkering Barberio & Co, where as a CPA, she advised clients for 42 years. She became a shareholder in 1991. As a 55-year resident of Sarasota, she has been a member and officer of numerous Boards of Directors, primarily supporting education, social, and healthcare services. A native of West Palm Beach, she attended Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia and graduated from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
