Why I Serve:
I feel that both libraries and universities serve as societal equalizers, more than any other factor. It is because of this, I have served on the boards of both types of institutions for the last 25 years.
Leslie Pemberton is currently retired, but worked for over 30 years in the Quality and Operating Excellence field, having led this work globally for Bank of America, Sonoco, and Kennametal. She graduated from Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA and received her MBA from the University of South Carolina. In addition to her professional career, she has served on numerous library boards, nonprofit boards, and governance committees at Westminster College and the University of South Carolina. She is also currently President of her neighborhood association in Venice.
