Why I Serve:
Our libraries are important community hubs that provide access to vital resources. At this critical time when funding is being threatened, I am committed to advocating for our libraries, their staff, and their mission. I feel this can best be accomplished through service on the board.
Deborah and her husband, John, raised their family in Bradenton, where she served on the board of The Manatee County Library Foundation, including two terms as president. Deborah’s career as a Physician Assistant has included work in the areas of Oncology / Bone Marrow Transplant, Infectious Disease, Clinical Research, and Reproductive Health. Now retired, she describes herself as a reverse snowbird, spending summers in Sea Bright, NJ, near daughters living in NYC. The rest of the year, she lives in downtown Laurel Park, Sarasota. She is a founding member of The Well-Read-Well-Fed Book Group, which has hosted monthly book-related dinners for over twenty-five years.
