We’re hiring a Communications and Donor Engagement Manager!
The Library Foundation is seeking a Communications and Donor Engagement Manager for our team. We’re looking for someone who shares our passion for public libraries and the vital role they play in making books, education and technology accessible to everyone.
The Communications and Donor Engagement Manager reports directly to the Executive Director in a leadership role to advance the mission of the Library Foundation for Sarasota County. This individual is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive communication strategies and donor engagement initiatives that enhance the visibility, reputation, and philanthropic success of the Foundation. The position combines strategic oversight with hands-on execution, ensuring the delivery of consistent messaging across all channels while fostering strong relationships with donors, stakeholders, media, and the community. The director will help drive the Foundation’s fundraising goals by creating compelling content and cultivating donor loyalty.
About Us
The Library Foundation for Sarasota County was established in the belief that great communities deserve great libraries. Founded in 2011, the Foundation is a non-profit organization that raises private donations to supplement tax support to keep our libraries strong, innovative, and accessible to all. We work closely with the Sarasota County Library System and with the various Friends’ organizations at each library branch. We focus on ways to enhance the library system for everyone in Sarasota.
The mission of the Library Foundation for Sarasota County is to champion strong public libraries, support innovation and help to extend the library system’s reach for everyone in Sarasota County. Our goals are to:
Raise public awareness of the importance of our libraries
Generate private sector financial support to complement public tax funding
Be a proponent for issues that promote the viability of our library system
Location of position: Our office location is 1358 Fruitville Road Suite 310.
This position offers a flexible hybrid schedule of 35 hours per week, with three days per week in the office. The first 90 days are expected to be in the office to facilitate onboarding.
Salary Range: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00, commensurate with experience. This is a full-time position with a 35 hours per week schedule. Benefits include a $400 monthly stipend for a Health Reimbursement Arrangement, life and disability insurance, paid time off, and paid holidays.

Qualifications
Passion for libraries and the role they play in fostering a vibrant community.
BA degree or commensurate experience.
3 - 5 years of marketing and communications experience, including some experience with social media, website content, and communicating to donors and stakeholders through newsletters and other print mediums.
Relevant fundraising, donor communications and event management experience a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Superior organizational skills; ability to work collaboratively both in-person and remotely.
Courteous and respectful of Board members, donors, government officials and other staff.
Ability to work in a deadline driven environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
A demonstrated track record of exemplary internal and external customer service, including superior analytical and problem-solving skills and a strong ability to work well with others and across departments.
Flexibility – to multi-task, to step in to represent the foundation as needed.
Experience working with databases or other donor software (the Library Foundation uses Bloomerang).
Proficient technical skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
Interest in and ability to quickly learn new technologies, such as SquareSpace.
Previous non-profit or library experience a plus.
