Celebrate Fall with the Library Foundation

Welcome Tanna Horner, our new Executive Director We’re so excited to share our wonderful news! Sarasota native and longtime educator and community leader Tanna Horner will join the foundation as our new executive director on November 2nd.  Little Otter's Big Adventure is Underway! Sarasota County Libraries recently partnered with Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium to launch Little Otter’s Big Reading Adventure, their newest early literacy initiative. Through reading and playful activities geared toward ages 0 - 6, families can help their little ones build the skills they need to be ready for kindergarten. To join the adventure, visit SarasotaCountyLibraries.org/Littles or stop by any Sarasota County Library to learn more. Protecting Libraries Together We want to express our gratitude for all of the support we’ve received in spreading the word about the value of libraries, and the risk Amendment 3 poses to library funding.  As we head into the final stretch to Election Day, we encourage you to continue to share this message with friends, neighbors, colleagues, family, dentist, coffee barista, dog walker, or anyone you come into contact with. Every connection makes a difference. Fruitville Library is Open Great news! The Fruitville Library is refreshed and reopened! On opening day, over 1,000 people visited, and over 2,000 items were borrowed. Families filled the library, tables in the children’s room were occupied, and educational computers were in full use. If you’re in the area, stop by and check it out. The wonderful library staff are ready to welcome you!
